| Stretch out poolside, help yourselves to our organically grown seasonal fruits and vegetables, enjoy our fresh mountain spring water, and otherwise relax and unwind in a serene countryside setting in between day trips to major Tuscan cities, historic hilltowns or the coast... Set in the beautiful mountainous northwest corner of Tuscany, between the historic city of Barga and village of Coreglia Antelminelli, Grifoglia is situated on 20 acres of sunny hillside overlooking the mountains that surround the Ania River. |
| The area is ideal for walking and hiking, or for those who would simply enjoy a fresh view of Tuscany. The setting through summer and late fall is lush green. Winter and spring reveal vast mountain vistas, terraced hillsides, and clear hiking trails. In the spring and fall the forests are filled with the pungent porcini mushrooms for which the area is famous, and in the fall the chestnut trees yield numerous varieties of the chestnuts that are used in many delicious local specialties. Grifoglia is centrally located, about 1- 1/2 hours from the cities of Florence and Pisa, or the coast at Viareggio, and 1 hour north of Lucca, and offers opportunities for numerous day trips to historic hill towns or the beautiful coastal region of Cinque Terre. |

The town of Coreglia Antelminelli, at 2.5 miles, can be reached on foot along the scenic main road or by one of many hiking trails. Barga (photo right), renowned for its cathedral and summer music festivals is 5.5 miles down the main road which affords spectacular panoramic views of the local mountain ranges. In addition to renovating the other lovely old stone farm buildings, we have recently restored a beautiful and historic wayside Chapel on the property. It is ideal for intimate weddings, baptisms, and other celebrations. |
| There is also a woodburning oven in our courtyard which we light at least once a week for pizza, baking or roasting and you're invited to join in. There are two one-bedroom apartments; one two-bedroom apartment; and one studio apartment. Each apartment has a kitchenette, a shower/bath and a sunny private terrace. The apartments are available for weekly Saturday to Saturday rentals and are priced as follows: |
